Do you have a passion for history? Or maybe you are someone with a love for York?

If so then we have a night lined up that just may tickle your fancy – an exhilarating tour around the streets of York. If you join us expect a fun and entertaining account of the city’s rich tapestry of Roman, Dark Age, Viking, and Medieval history.

Local historian John is no professor or lecturer. But as the owner of one of York’s foremost tour guide companies, he is the perfect man to guide you through the 2000 years of York’s history.

The tour itinerary will start and end at Valhalla and you will be guided around York stopping at York Minster, Treasurers House, The Shambles, Barley Hall and Kings Square. Participants will also delve into the eerie realm of Roman ghosts, uncovering the secrets now hidden beneath the city’s ancient streets.

Please note that this is an evening tour and will not include entrance to either the Minster, Treasurers House or Barley Hall.

Upon returning to Valhalla, adventurers will receive a well-earned drink at the bar on us (up to the value of £6.50), and then it’s up to AllFather Hall, for a chance to sit down and relax, as John goes through some more history, focusing on York’s Viking past, from the battle of York until the end of the Viking Age in 1066.

An unforgettable experience, seamlessly blending entertainment, education, and a dash of Viking spirit. Book your journey now and prepare to embark on an epic adventure through York’s storied past.

The tour around York will leave at 7pm prompt on Tuesday 6th August, and should last for around an hour. In the interests of beginning on time we would suggest that visitors are with us in good time. After the tour of Yorks streets you’ll then be welcomed back to AllFather Hall in Valhalla to join us for a drink and for the journey to continue. All in we would expect the event to finish at approximately 8:30pm. AllFather Hall shall be booked out for the evening though so you are of course welcome to stay as long as you like.

Places are limited to 28 Spaces and the event is bookable through our website in advance only.

If you book you will be sent a ticket via email prior to the event for you and your guests to show at the venue on arrival.

As AllFather Hall is located on the top floor of our venue we are afraid this event is unsuitable for those with mobility issues.

We will of course hope the Gods bless us with sunshine but please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day.
